DESCRIPTION: Another common grass bug that reaches a length of up to 7mm. Females (Fig 1). The ground colour is generally yellowish-green with various longitudinal black markings on the pronotum and forewings (less so in the female). Take note that with age the colouring darkens. The
membranous tips of the hemelytra are blackish giving the bug a dark tipped appearance. The sides of this species are quite parallel and the cuneus is pale although not as obviously so as in the similar Adelphocoris lineolatus. DISTRIBUTION: Widely distributed throughout the UK. HABITAT: On variety of grasses on which adults and nymphs feed. PERIOD: June to September. |
